The ICS Varsity Women's Basketball team participated in the 2022 Cameron Chamber Classic from December 8th-10th in Cameron, TX and took 2nd place!
The Lady Warriors opened up play on Thursday against the Cameron Lady Yoe and won by a score of 46-28. They had 3 girls in double figures, with #3 Ariana Vazquez having 13 points, #30 Hannah Ayala with 12 points, and #4 Juliana Hernandez with 10 points.
That evening, ICS defeated the San Antonio Lutheran Mustangs by a score of 38-19. #30 Ayala led the way for the Warriors with 12 points.
Friday morning brought a matchup against the Austin Travis Early College Rebels. The Lady Warriors topped the Rebels by a score of 36-20. #3 Vazquez and #25 McKenzie Hart each had 10 points in the win.
Friday evening brought the best matchup of the Cameron Classic on the girls side. TABC Ranked #24 Mexia face our Lady Warriors. After the Warriors went down early, they mounted a major second half comeback that would come up short by two points. The final score of the contest was 39-41, as the Lady Warriors would suffer their first loss of the season. #30 Hannah Ayala put up 23 points in the contest. Since this weekends tournament the Mexia Blackcats have now moved to #8 in the state according to TABC.
Immanuel's 38-30 win over the Florence Buffaloes on Saturday morning secured 2nd Place in the Cameron Chamber Classic. #25 McKenzie Hart had 15 points, while #4 Juliana Hernandez added 10 points of her own.
The Lady Warriors our now 12-1 as they travel to Santa Teresa, NM, to face the Desert Warriors, tomorrow night at 7 PM!
