The ICS Varsity Men's Basketball team participated in the Anthony Basketball Tournament this past weekend and took 3rd Place!

The Warriors opened up tournament play against the Clint Lions and won by a score of 38-36. The leading scorer for the Warriors was Sophomore #30 Hector Perez wit 10 points. Senior #23 Daniel Brito was the leading rebounder 13 in the contest.
Round 2 pitted the Warriors against the Gadsden Panthers, where the Warriors would go on to lose a close one 46-50. #30 Perez and #23 Brito had 12 points each in the contest. They each had 5 assists, while Brito completed his double-double by also pulling down 13 rebounds. Daniel Brito added 2 blocks to his stat sheet while Hector Perez poured on 5 steals.

Friday's loss set the Warriors up to face the Santa Teresa Desert Warriors in the 3rd Place Game of the Anthony Tournament. The Warriors would defeat Santa Teresa by a score of 59-53 in Overtime. Sophomore #32 Noah Ayala had a big day, putting up a career high 27 points and pulling down 14 rebounds for his second double-double of the year. Senior #2 Josh Duran had 10 points and 5 assists in the game as well.

The Warriors will go into 2023 with a record of 9-5 as they will face the Van Horn Eagles on Tuesday, January 3rd, in Dave Frazier Memorial Gym.
