The ICS Varsity Men's Basketball team hosted the 2022 ICS Holiday Classic from December 1st-3rd, and won the tournament Championship!
The Warriors opened play against El Paso Leadership Academy and won by a score of 65-30. Sophomore #30 Hector Perez was the leading scorer for the Warriors with 16 points and also had 9 rebounds. #23 Daniel Brito had 11 rebounds and #11 Josiah Johnson had 7 rebounds.
Their next game was against the Presidio Blue Devils on Friday evening. The Warriors would roll past the Blue Devils by a score of 65-41. The Warriors had 4 players in double figures: Freshman #3 Carlos Acuna with 15 points, Senior #23 Daniel Brito with 15 points, Sophomore #32 Noah Ayala with 12 points, and Sophomore #30 Hector Perez with 11 points. Both Brito and Ayala completed their double-doubles with 10 rebounds for each of them.
Due to the design of the bracket, the Warriors would face the Blue Devils once again on Saturday night for the tournament title. The Warriors would defeat the Blue Devils by a score of 48-36! #30 Perez led the Warriors with 20 points while #23 Brito poured on an additional 12. Brito completed another double-double with 10 rebounds while #32 Ayala had 8 rebounds.
The Warriors will now hold a record of 6-4 when they face the Lydia Patterson Lions tonight at 6:30 PM in Dave Frazier Memorial Gym!
