The Varsity Football team concluded their 2023 Campaign back on October 27th. They would be defeated on homecoming night by the Da Vinci Dragons by a score of 6-50.
In spite of the dismal score for the final game of the season and the overall record (1-7), the completion of the 2023 campaign is a victory in and of itself. ICS has had a proud history of 6-Man Football, dating back to its State Championship season in 2010, with the last completed season being the 2016 season. Many were surprised to hear that tackle football might make a return to ICS, and thanks to the leadership of AD Larry McCollum and Head Coach Danny Rico, that prospect became a reality.
The Warriors saw 2 players make the TCAF District 2 All-District Team. Senior Quarterback Ricky Reyna was named to the First Team while Senior Receiver Chris Nelson was named to the Second Team.
During halftime of our Homecoming game we honored this year's 5 seniors. We want to thank Ricky Reyna, Chris Munoz, Abel Velasquez, Junao Durag, and Chris Nelson for being the leaders of this remarkable restart of ICS Football!
The ICS Football staff is now looking to 2024, hard at work recruiting our 8th Graders to Spring Football in 2024!
