From August 8th-12th the Lady Warriors participated in the Mt. View Volleyball Tournament featuring: Immanuel, Mt. View, Loretto, Bowie, El Dorado, Del Valle, Horizon, and Canutillo!
The Lady Warriors opened dup play on August 10th, with a 2-0 (25-12, 25-23) win over the Mt. View Lobos. #3 Ariana Vazquez lead the team in kills, getting 8 on the night, while #17 McKenzie Hart had 6. #1 Leah Fox had 5 digs and 11 receptions on the night; #16 Mia Bell had 13 assists.Â
On August 11th, the team defeated the Loretto Angels 2-0 (25-23, 25-20) in the Semifinal round of the tournament. After losing both matchups against Loretto in the 2022 season, Friday's win was a good indicator of where the Lady Warriors are at in the 2023 season. #3 Vazquez and #17 Hart held down the offensive side of things for the Warriors, getting 8 and 6 kills respectively. #16 Bell had 3 aces and 14 assists in the contest. #1 Fox had 8 digs and 9 receptions.Â
The Championship game featured the Immanuel and the Canutillo Eagles. The Eagles narrowly topped the Warriors 1-2 (23-25, 25-22, 12-15). #3 Vazquez and #17 Hart had another big day, with 12 and 7 kills respectively. #1 Fox had 15 digs and 17 receptions in the contest. #3 Vazquez and #6 Kasandra Samaniego each had 12 receptions. #16 Bell had a fantastic showing with 24 assists on Saturday.
The Lady Warriors will be back in action against Fabens on Tuesday, August 15th!
