On February 19th, the Varsity Men's Basketball team defeated the Chisholm Trail Academy Blazers by a score of 84-69 to win the 2024 TCAF State Championship—Immanuel's first Men's Basketball State Championship since 2008.
In a game where the Warriors led the entire way, 3 players scored in double digits. Ben Story led the Warriors with 22 points, Hector Perez had 21 points, and in his last game as a Warrior, Josiah Johnson poured on 17 points in the night's victory. Carlos Acuna added 7 points, but his real contribution came from his 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. Johnson and Perez each added 8 rebounds, while Perez also had 9 assists and 3 steals. Noah Ayala contributed 8 points, but did a great job on the boards, pulling down 13 in the game.
The Warriors complete the season with a 28-8 record, tying the record for most wins in a season, and District Champions.
