Immanuel Christian went on the road Friday, September 26, to face the Da Vinci Dragons at Tornillo High School and fell 40–26 in a hard-fought matchup.
The Warriors moved the ball consistently, finishing with 284 total yards (220 rushing, 64 passing). Junior quarterback Brayden Reyna powered the offense with a workhorse night on the ground—15 carries for 189 yards, including a 50-yard burst, and three rushing touchdowns. He also went 5-for-7 passing for 64 yards.
Senior Alam Canales paced the receiving corps with 3 catches for 42 yards (long 27), while senior Ismael Gutierrez added 2 receptions for 15 yards and senior Aiden Kiniery chipped in one catch for 7. Jeremiah Alarcon provided a spark with a 30-yard rush.
Defensively, the Warriors produced several momentum plays. Canales came up with an interception, and Alarcon notched a sack (10 yards) and was active behind the line with multiple tackles for loss. Seniors Ismael Gutierrez, Adam Garduna, and Jonas Laffan contributed stops, while Garduna handled a heavy special-teams load, fielding multiple kickoffs. Ball security proved pivotal, as the Warriors' lone lost fumble swung field position at a key moment.
Despite the result, Immanuel Christian showed grit and explosiveness, especially in the ground game behind Reyna and a physical offensive front. The Warriors exit the night at 2–2 and will regroup for the stretch ahead.
The Warriors return to action on Friday, October 3rd, when they host El Paso Leadership Academy at Chapin High School. Kickoff is set for 7 PM as Immanuel Christian celebrates Homecoming 2025. The matchup will also serve as the Warriors' final non-conference game before district play begins.
