In a back-and-forth battle that came down to the final moments, the Immanuel Christian Warriors dropped a heartbreaker to the Grace Christian Colts, 38–36, on Friday, October 10, at a neutral site in Midland. The loss marked the Warriors' first defeat in district play.
The Warriors' offense came alive once again, producing 295 total yards — 158 on the ground and 137 through the air — behind a balanced attack led by senior Benjamin Frecka and junior Brayden Reyna.
Frecka was exceptional in all phases, throwing for 16 yards, rushing for 29 yards and a score, and leading all receivers with 3 catches for 63 yards and another touchdown. Reyna added 121 passing yards and 71 rushing yards with three total scores, continuing his dual-threat dominance.
Senior Aiden Kiniery was a reliable target, hauling in 3 receptions for 28 yards and two touchdowns, while Ismael Gutierrez added 30 receiving yards and a pair of kickoffs to highlight a strong all-around performance. Senior Jonas Laffan contributed 40 rushing yards and a touchdown to round out a potent offensive display.
Defensively, the Warriors were anchored by Frecka's 7 tackles, including 6 solo stops, while Reyna and Gutierrez each added 5 total tackles, including one TFL for Gutierrez. Jeremiah Alarcon was active in the backfield with 4 solo tackles and 9 total tackles, and Jonas Laffan added 4 total tackles as part of the team's 40 total tackles on the night.
Special teams play remained consistent, as Gutierrez connected on 3 of 4 PAT attempts, and the Warriors' return unit helped keep field position competitive throughout the night.
