The Immanuel Christian Warriors put forth a strong effort at the Fred Loya Invitational at Eastwood High School on March 7th and 8th, with several athletes setting personal records (PRs) across sprint, distance, and field events.
In the 100m Open Prelims, Jeremiah Alarcon ran 13.09s. The 200m Open Finals featured Josecarlos Samaniego finishing 16th in 25.84s, Alarcon placing 21st in 26.40s, and Adam Garduna setting a PR of 27.40s for 29th place.
In the 400m Open Prelims, Samaniego set a PR of 58.66s, finishing 10th, and Alarcon followed with a PR of 59.83s, placing 16th.
The 1600m Open Finals saw Lane Bakken run a PR of 5:31.09, placing 16th, while Christian Dulanto also PRed at 5:31.42, finishing 17th. In the 1600m 9th Grade Finals, John Urrieta clocked 5:33.93, finishing 14th.
In the 3200m Open Finals, Bakken finished 11th in 11:59.92, while in the 3200m 9th Grade Finals, Jonathan Munoz placed 10th with a time of 12:01.36.
In Shot Put, Jonas Laffan threw 28'10", while Yurem Saenz set a PR of 25'7", finishing 34th. Jeremiah Alarcon had a great performance in Long Jump, setting a PR of 16'2" and placing 19th.
Sophomore Aubrie Donahue was the Warriors' lone female competitor, representing Immanuel Christian with determination. In the 100m Open Prelims, she clocked 15.20s, and in the 200m Open Finals, she set a new PR of 33.90s, showing great progress in her sprinting events.
