#ICYMI: Warriors Tennis Battles to a Tie Against Tornillo, Secures Win Over Mountain View

The Immanuel Christian Warriors Varsity Tennis team faced two tough opponents on February 7th in a competitive tri-match at Tornillo High School. The Warriors battled to a 5-5 tie against the Tornillo Coyotes and earned a 2-1 victory over the Mountain View Lobos, marking another strong performance for ICS.

Match Results & Individual Highlights

The Warriors fought evenly against Tornillo, splitting the matches at 5-5. Against Mountain View, ICS came away with a narrow 2-1 team win, proving their depth and resilience.

Boys' Singles

    •    Patricio Jimenez split his matches, falling 3-6, 3-6 to Tornillo but bouncing back with a dominant 8-0 win in his second match.

    •    Gael Valenzuela put up a strong fight but fell just short 7-9 against Tornillo.

    •    Adrian Carrillo played two tough matches, falling 2-6, 3-6 to Tornillo and 7-7, 2-8 to Mountain View.

    •    Gerard Flores secured a strong 8-3 victory against Mountain View.

    •    Gabe Torres added another win for ICS, defeating Mountain View 8-1.

Girls' Singles

    •    Ana Terrazas continued her stellar play, winning 6-0, 6-1 against Tornillo in a commanding performance.

    •    Alyna Rico played a thrilling three-set match but narrowly lost 6-2, 4-6, 10-12 against Tornillo.

    •    Grace Johnson delivered a solid 9-1 victory against Tornillo.

    •    Ivanna Zepeda added another win with an 8-1 result over Tornillo.

Boys' Doubles

    •    The duo of Gabe Torres and Gerard Flores fought hard but fell 2-8 to Tornillo.

Girls' Doubles

    •    Kristen Duarte and Nicole Haro secured a clutch 8-7 victory against Tornillo, showing grit and determination in a tight match.

With a tie against Tornillo and a win over Mountain View, the Warriors continue to build momentum this season. Ana Terrazas, Grace Johnson, and Ivanna Zepeda led the way in singles, while the duo of Duarte and Haro came up big in doubles.
