The Immanuel Christian Warriors took the big stage at the 2025 Willie Williams Classic, hosted by the University of Arizona in Tucson on March 21st and 22nd, competing against top-tier athletes from across the region. Despite the elevated level of competition, the Warriors stepped up and delivered solid performances—including a new personal record.
In the 400m High School Prelims, sophomore Josecarlos Samaniego continued his steady improvement, running a PR of 56.61 seconds and gaining valuable experience on a collegiate track.
In the 3200m High School Finals, juniors Lane Bakken and freshman Jonathan Munoz ran nearly identical races. Bakken crossed the line in 11:42.56, earning a new PR, while Munoz followed just milliseconds behind at 11:42.63, marking one of his best performances of the season.
Competing at a meet of this caliber gave the Warriors a chance to test themselves in a high-pressure environment, and they responded with poise and determination.Â
