The Immanuel Christian Warriors Varsity Tennis team earned a gritty 6-4 win over the Hanks Knights on March 21st, battling through a series of tightly contested matches to secure the team victory. The Warriors were led by strong singles play and clutch performances in doubles to come out on top.
In boys' singles, both Patricio Jimenez and Gael Valenzuela were dominant. Jimenez cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win, while Valenzuela shut out his opponent 8-0. On the girls' side, Ana Terrazas delivered another standout performance with an 8-0 victory. Gaby Stephens pushed her match to a close second set but ultimately fell 1-6, 6-7, while Jeual Castruita dropped her match 3-8.
In doubles play, Gabe Torres and Gerard Flores picked up a win in boys' doubles, contributing another key point to the team total. Girls' doubles was a highlight of the day, as both ICS teams fought through dramatic three-set matches. Ana Terrazas and Alyna Rico rallied from a set down to win 4-6, 6-3, 10-5, while Nicole Haro and Kristen Duarte pulled off an epic comeback, winning 5-7, 7-6, 13-11 in a thrilling tiebreaker.
In mixed doubles, the Warriors came up short in two hard-fought matches. Adrian Carrillo and Valeria Quevedo lost 1-6, 5-6, while Roman Gomez and Hannah Silva-Sampaio fell 1-6, 4-6.
With the 6-4 team win, the Warriors once again demonstrated depth, perseverance, and the ability to perform under pressure. As the season continues, ICS looks to carry this momentum into the home stretch with confidence.
