On February 4th, Immanuel Christian took the court at Dave Frazier Memorial Gym for a dominant performance against the El Paso Christian Homeschool Panthers. From the opening tip-off, ICS set the tone with an aggressive offensive attack and stifling defense, securing a commanding 71-32 victory at home.
The first quarter saw Immanuel Christian establish an early lead, outscoring EPCHS 19-10. The defensive intensity ramped up in the second quarter, holding the Panthers to just four points while ICS added 18 to their total. Coming out of halftime, ICS continued their strong play, putting up 22 points in the third quarter and closing out the game with a solid 12-point fourth quarter.
Carlos Acuña led the scoring effort for ICS with 18 points on an efficient 8-for-9 shooting performance. Jayson Chang contributed 14 points while also making a strong impact on the boards with six rebounds. Ben Story added 11 points and showed his efficiency with an 80% shooting percentage. Jaden Ortiz and Noah Ayala each contributed nine and six points, respectively, helping to round out the balanced scoring attack. Alan Valenzuela and Jonas Laffan added key buckets off the bench.
ICS showcased a well-rounded offensive attack, knocking down five three-pointers and shooting 80% from the free throw line. The team controlled the paint, converting 24 two-point field goals while maintaining a strong presence on the glass.
Defensively, Immanuel Christian was relentless, forcing turnovers and limiting second-chance opportunities for EPCHS. The team recorded 14 steals, with Carlos Acuña and Jayson Chang leading the effort with multiple takeaways. The rebounding battle was controlled by ICS, as the team secured 33 total rebounds, including 26 on the defensive end.
