The Immanuel Christian Warriors put forth a strong effort at the Austin Truman Wills Invitational on February 14th and 15th, competing in various events and demonstrating their endurance and determination on the track. Facing tough competition, the Warriors showcased their talent in both sprint and distance races.
In the 100-meter preliminaries, sophomore Josecarlos Samaniego clocked a time of 13.83 seconds. While he did not advance to the finals, Samaniego gained valuable experience that will help him continue to improve throughout the season.
The Warriors had an impressive showing in the distance events. In the 1600-meter Freshmen Finals, Jonathan Munoz secured a fourth-place finish with a time of 5:41.50, demonstrating his endurance and potential in the event. Meanwhile, the 1600-meter Open Finals featured two Warriors runners—Lane Bakken, who placed eighth with a time of 5:46.86, and Christian Dulanto, who finished ninth in 5:47.80.
The team also put up strong performances in the 3200-meter races. Jonathan Munoz had another standout performance in the Freshmen 3200-meter Finals, earning a runner-up finish with a time of 12:12.11. In the Open 3200-meter Finals, the Warriors saw two competitors place in the top ten, with Lane Bakken finishing eighth in 12:48.91 and Christian Dulanto crossing the line in ninth at 13:04.11.
