The Immanuel Christian Warriors delivered another strong showing at the 4th Annual Eastwood Jim Omohundro Invitational, competing in both sprint and distance events. The meet provided an opportunity for the Warriors to test their speed and endurance against tough competition, with two of their athletes setting new personal records (PRs) in the process.
Sophomore Josecarlos Samaniego represented the Warriors in the sprint events, competing in both the 100-meter and 200-meter finals. Samaniego finished the 100-meter Open Finals in 13.33 seconds, showing steady improvement in his performance. In the 200-meter Open Finals, he crossed the line in 27.68 seconds, gaining valuable experience in the short-distance events.
The Warriors found success in the 3200-meter races, with standout performances from Lane Bakken and Jonathan Munoz. Competing in the 3200-meter Open Finals, junior Lane Bakken set a new personal record (PR) with a time of 11:46.37, securing an eighth-place finish. His continued progress in the distance events is a testament to his hard work and dedication.
Freshman Jonathan Munoz had an outstanding race in the 3200-meter 9th Grade Finals, placing fifth with a PR time of 11:25.35. His steady improvement shows promise for future races as he continues to develop as a distance runner.
