The Immanuel Christian Warriors braved the cold and rainy conditions at the Jesus Chapel Invitational, held at Irvin High School on April 4–5. With field events completed on Friday and track events disrupted and cut short on Saturday due to inclement weather, the Warriors still turned in strong efforts across multiple events.
Boys' Team Highlights
Sprints & Relays:
In the 100m Varsity Finals, Jeremiah Alarcon placed 6th with a time of 12.89s, followed by Liam de Smet at 12.99s and Gael Quinonez at 13.81s. The 4x100m Relay team of Quinonez, de Smet, Adam Garduna, and Josecarlos Samaniego claimed a 3rd place finish with a time of 55.03s.
Mid & Long-Distance:
In the 3200m Varsity Finals, Lane Bakken and Jonathan Munoz finished just two-hundredths of a second apart, taking 1st and 2nd with times of 11:47.83 and 11:47.85. The 800m Varsity Finals was unfortunately cut short due to worsening weather, resulting in no times for John Urrieta and Christian Dulanto.
Field Events:
In Shot Put, Jonas Laffan threw 27'4", and Yurem Saenz followed with 26'3". In Long Jump, Liam de Smet set a PR with 17'2", placing 5th, while Jeremiah Alarcon jumped 15'3".
Girls' Team Highlights
Sprints & Relays:
In the 100m Varsity Finals, freshman Kezia Rayon led the Lady Warriors with a 7th-place finish in 15.76s. She was followed by Valeria Escobar in 16.27s and Aubrie Donahue in 16.44s.
The 4x100m Relay team—Donahue, Rayon, Hurlbert, and Escobar—finished with a time of 1:02.06.
Field Events:
In Long Jump, Donahue earned 9th place with a jump of 11'2", a new personal record. Escobar followed with her own PR of 10'0".
