#ICYMI: Warriors Finish 4th Overall at TCAF State Championships

The Immanuel Christian Warriors capped off an incredible 2025 track season with a 4th place overall team finish at the Texas Christian Athletic Fellowship (TCAF) State Championships, held on April 26th at Springtown High School in Springtown, TX. Competing across a full slate of events, the Warriors delivered standout performances in sprints, distance races, relays, and field events.

Boys' Team Highlights

Sprints & Relays:

In the 100m dash, Benjamin Frecka (12.25), Gael Quinonez (12.49), and Adam Garduna (12.51) represented the Warriors in a competitive field.

In the 200m, Jeremiah Alarcon led the way with a 9th-place finish (25.26), followed by Liam de Smet (10th, 25.55) and Garduna (11th, 26.19).

Sophomore Josecarlos Samaniego stood out in the 400m, placing 3rd overall with a time of 55.71, following a 3rd-place finish in prelims (55.21). De Smet added a 5th-place finish (57.49) to the team's scoring total.

The Warriors also placed well in the relays. The 4x100m Relay team earned 3rd place (49.19), while the 4x400m Relay team took 2nd place (4:02.45), boosting the team's final standings.

Distance Events:

Freshman John Urrieta had a strong outing, finishing 4th in the 800m (2:20.73) and 2nd in the 1600m (5:22.06).

In the 3200m, the Warriors went 1–3, with Jonathan Munoz winning the event in 11:50.46, and Lane Bakken placing 3rd (11:56.23). Munoz also took 4th in the 1600m (5:27.83), while Bakken finished 5th (5:33.85).

Field Events:

In Long Jump, Jeremiah Alarcon landed in 8th place (17'3"), followed by Benjamin Frecka (10th, 16'7") and Liam de Smet (15th).

Jonas Laffan placed 5th in Discus (80'8"), while Yurem Saenz took 15th (65'5"). Laffan also earned 5th in Shot Put (30'0"), with Saenz (13th, 25'4") and Frecka (21st, 23'5") contributing to the team's field effort.

Girls' Team Highlights

Sprints & Relays:

Aubrie Donahue had a strong day in the 100m, placing 5th in both prelims (14.64) and finals (14.78). Athena Hurlbert also competed, finishing 10th in prelims (16.79).

In the 200m, Valeria Escobar finished 8th in both prelims (31.04) and finals (33.58), with Kezia Rayon clocking 31.65 in the prelims.

The Lady Warriors made a statement in the relays, winning 1st place in the 4x100m Relay (59.85) and earning 2nd place in the 4x200m Relay (2:13.74)—key results that contributed to the overall team finish.

Field Events:

Donahue rounded out her day with a 5th-place finish in Long Jump (13'3"), and Escobar added points with an 8th-place finish (12'11").

The Warriors' 4th-place overall finish at State reflects the hard work, consistency, and all-around team effort displayed throughout the 2025 season.
