The Immanuel Christian Warriors were back on the course Friday morning, September 5, competing at the Ysleta XC Invitational at Blackie Chesher Park. Against a deep field of El Paso-area programs, ICS athletes gained valuable experience across both Varsity and Open divisions.
In the Varsity Boys Division, senior Christian Dulanto led the way for the Warriors, finishing 58th overall with a new PR time of 18:40.84. He was followed by sophomore John Urrieta, who crossed in 74th place with a new PR time of 19:32.56. Senior Sebastian Montez finished with a time of 21:54.00. Junior Jeremiah Gomez posted a 22:02.25 for 94th place.Â
On the girls' side, the Warriors competed in the Open Division, where two athletes represented ICS. Sophomore Karla Ibuado clocked a new PR time of 26:51.37 to finish 69th overall, while senior Jeual Castruita crossed the line in 31:33.22 for 97th place, and a new PR.
The Warriors continue to show steady progress in the 2025 season, using each invitational to sharpen their performances and gain momentum for the races ahead.
