Immanuel Christian returned to Dave Frazier Memorial Gym on Tuesday, September 9th, for a rematch with the Chapin Huskies. The Warriors showed grit and fight, but ultimately fell in four sets (8–25, 25–23, 21–25, 17–25).
The Warriors found themselves behind early after a difficult opening set, but responded with energy and execution in the second frame. A well-timed kill from Lucia Munoz and strong serving runs from Addison Kern and Lilia Ramirez helped ICS secure a hard-fought 25–23 win, knotting the match at one set apiece.
From there, Chapin's athleticism and depth wore down the Warriors, who dropped the final two sets despite stretches of competitive play. Carla Sousa-Travieso led the attack with 9 kills and 13 digs, while Jade Garcia added 6 kills and 8 digs of her own. Munoz chipped in 4 kills, and Kern tallied 3. Ramirez directed the offense with 19 assists, keeping the Warrior attack balanced.
Defensively, Kern and Sousa-Travieso anchored the back row with 13 digs each, while Yareli Lopez contributed 8 digs and steady serve receive. The Warriors also held strong at the service line, recording 6 total aces, with Kern (2) and Garcia (2) leading the way.
Despite the loss, the night marked an important step forward for the Warriors as they continue to test themselves against tough competition and build chemistry on their home floor.
Immanuel Christian will be back in action on Thursday, September 12th, when they travel to Northeast El Paso to face the Irvin Rockets.
