Warriors Roll Past Sierra Blanca in Home Opener

The Immanuel Christian Warriors opened their home schedule in dominant fashion on Friday night, September 5, defeating the Sierra Blanca Vaqueros 65–12 at Chapin High School. After a tough road loss in Week One, the Warriors bounced back in impressive style, clicking on all sides of the ball.

Junior quarterback Brayden Reyna turned in a flawless performance, completing all 9 of his pass attempts for 204 yards and 5 touchdowns. His accuracy and command of the offense set the tone early and kept the Warriors' attack rolling throughout the night.

Senior Benjamin Frecka was unstoppable as a dual threat, rushing for 61 yards and 2 touchdowns while also hauling in 3 receptions for 117 yards and 3 more scores. He finished with a team-high 178 all-purpose yards.

Jeremiah Alarcon added 3 receptions for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns, while senior Ismael Gutierrez contributed on both sides of the ball—rushing for a touchdown and connecting on several extra point kicks. Sophomore William Mack chipped in with 15 rushing yards on limited carries, giving the Warriors valuable depth in the ground game.

Defensively, the Warriors kept Sierra Blanca in check, forcing pressure and limiting big plays. Seniors Aiden Kiniery and Jonas Laffan each contributed tackles, while Gutierrez recorded a tackle for loss to help stall Vaquero drives.

By halftime, the Warriors had built a commanding lead, and they never looked back, showcasing the balance and explosiveness of their offense. The 65 points scored marked one of the highest totals for Immanuel Christian in recent years, with contributions from veterans and underclassmen alike.

With the win, the Warriors improved to 1–1 on the season and set the tone for what could be a breakout year.
